Casual Halloween Weekend Photoshoot

A fellow photographer friend and I did a casual, fun shoot on a Halloween weekend. She dressed as a Marvel character (which I can no longer remember who).

Rainbow effects created from prism overlays in Photoshop.
The rainbow effects were created from both an in-camera prism and prism overlays from post processing.

Taken with Nikon Z6 and a Helios 44-2, a lens made in soviet Russia. Production of the lens first started in 1958 and ended decades ago, but it has gained a cult following among photographers that crave artistic effects, such as its beautiful swirly bokeh, on a budget. These lenses aren't the easiest to use. Obviously, the focus is manual, quality control while mass producing products was not great in Soviet Russia so there is a risk of defects, and it isn't great when it comes to spherical aberration and flaring. Regardless, the Helios 44-2 is a cheap lens that is SUPER fun, and I am so happy to own it.
